Well, we all made it thru the Holidays and now we’re running head first into 2012. Thanks to all of our family, friends and loyal Papa’s customers for a great 2011. There are alot of exciting new menu items and promotions coming up and we’ll make sure to let everyone know what’s going on. The new big TVs have been a great hit with everyone. A little news and weather at lunch and some great football. The Superbowl is coming in February and Papa’s is going to have it’s first Superbowl Party. We’ll be taking reservations thru the month of January for this all inclusive Pig Roast. This Friday the 13th is the neighborhood Healthy Open House hosted by Whitemarsh Chiropractic and everyone in our two shopping centers will have specials and raffles. 5:30-7:30. If you need help with any company or private parties, give us a call and we can help you put together a menu and plan portions. We usually figure 3-4 people to a pint or pound of any menu item. Also, take into consideration other items you may be serving and the number of items you are serving. I have a good feeling about this year. Let’s keep up that momentum.

October has been just a beautiful month and Papa’s has done some wonderful catering jobs at Savannah and Tybee locations. We have served our great pit cooked BBQ with Chicken Fingers, Low Country Boil with fresh local Shrimp caught by Shrimper Brian Anderson and Oyster Roasts using Florida Oysters. Customers have been flocking to our Restaurant for the Fall specials including Papa’s Oktoberfest special, Usinger’s Bratwurst, Sauerkraut with caraway and apples and our homemade German Potato Salad. We are getting geared up for Halloween, the Rock n’ Roll Marathon and the Holidays. Don’t forget all the great games to come and let us help you feed the group some BBQ, Seafood and Wings. Let us help you plan menus and portions. We figure 4 people to the pound or pint of BBQ and Sides. That should get you started and we can help with rest. Just get out there.

I was just thinking about how fast April went by and everything Papa’s was involved with in Savannah and on Tybee. There was a lot of BBQ and Seafood involved in catering and fundraising. We helped Team Terri in memory of Terri Lank and the Komen Race for the Cure and held a Boston Butt sale on April 12th and raised $2500 towards the teams current $25,000 total. On April 16th we had a tent at the Tybee Wine Festival held on the Lighthouse grounds. We handed out BBQ sandwiches to 800 folks and it was a fabulous event. Papa’s also helped the Tybee Police Dept. feed the extra manpower on the Island that weekend. It’s already a busy May with Cinco de Mayo on Thursday May 5 with Nachos, Quesidillas and Margarita Specials. The Kentucky Derby is Sat. May 7th with Mint Juleps and Oaks Lily drink specials. If you wear a hat you get a discount. The big one is Mother’s Day on Sunday May 8th with flowers for Mothers and all of our wonderful BBQ & Seafood Specials. Papa’s has been doing a lot of catering and we would love to help with your next party.

Ok, here goes. I’ve been worried about blogging and what to blog about so I decided to blog about just that. Worrying about this being perfect and being scrutinized is what held me back. I have alot to say about many topics but wondered what folks would like to here from me and Papa’s. There are many discussions about Bar-B-Que and Bar-B-Que Sauces, what makes a fabulous Shrimp Salad, How to Run a Restaurant, or How to Plan a Party. It doesn’t have to be all about food and restaurants because I also love Tybee, Savannah, boats, the Ocean and Vacations to name a few things. Let me know what you’d like to discuss and we’ll talk about it.
